Haleakala Sunset Tour - An unforgettable Maui Volcano Adventure!
Embark on an Unforgettable Maui Volcano Adventure
Aloha Eco Adventures offers this exclusive opportunity to experience one of the island’s most breathtaking attractions in an unforgettable day. Why is this such a must-do? Only six companies on Maui have the special permits required to enter Haleakala National Park, and we’re proud to be one of them! Experience the authentic beauty of Maui’s vast, otherworldly volcanic terrain while witnessing one of nature’s most spectacular displays – a sensational sunset from the summit of the “House of the Sun.” While Haleakala’s summit offers one of the world’s most spectacular sunset viewing locations, Mother Nature ultimately determines visibility conditions. Cloud cover and weather patterns at 10,023 feet can occasionally obscure sunset views, making each clear evening all the more magical. Regardless of visibility, the summit experience itself—exploring the volcanic crater, learning about endemic species, and witnessing the dramatic landscape—creates unforgettable memories rain or shine. Don’t miss out on this rare opportunity to see the island in all its glory!
Journey to the Summit of the “House of the Sun”
Experience the heart of Maui on a journey that blends breathtaking landscapes, rich history, and vibrant local culture. Relax in the comfort of our luxurious, eco-friendly Mercedes Sprinter vans as we take care of the driving, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the beauty of this incredible island. Along the way, our expert local guides will bring Hawaiian history and legends to life, sharing insider tips and fascinating stories to enhance your adventure. Your sunset experience includes a satisfying dinner of locally-sourced sandwiches and fresh salads from a popular Maui upcountry restaurant, perfectly timed to enjoy while taking in the breathtaking sunset views from the summit.
Witness the “Eighth Wonder of the World”
Your day creates lasting memories with a visit to Haleakala National Park, where the golden rays of the setting sun illuminate the stunning landscape of one of the world’s largest volcanic craters. Take an easy, guided walk along the Pa Ka’oao Trail, exploring ancient rock wall shelters and discovering rare plants like the endangered Silversword (‘ahinahina). Keep an eye out for the elegant Nene geese, Hawaii’s state bird, as they roam freely in their native habitat.
As an authorized partner of Haleakala National Park, Aloha Eco Adventures delivers Maui’s premier Haleakala experience. Known by some as the Eighth Wonder of the World, Haleakala offers a one-of-a-kind ascent from sea level to 10,023 feet in just over an hour. At the summit, you’ll peer into a massive 3,000-foot-deep crater spanning 11.25 miles across, 3.2 miles wide, and 21 miles in circumference—a sight of unparalleled volcanic grandeur.
Upcountry Maui & Cowboy Heritage
Before ascending to the summit, enjoy free time exploring charming Makawao Town, a laid-back upcountry community steeped in Hawaiian cowboy (paniolo) tradition. Browse unique shops, savor lunch at a local eatery, and soak in the authentic atmosphere of this historic former ranch town that showcases Maui’s diverse cultural heritage.
This tour is an essential experience for anyone visiting Maui, offering a deep dive into Hawaiian culture, native plants, volcanic geology, and the island’s unique wildlife. As you ascend the winding mountain roads through six different climate zones, you’ll uncover Maui’s hidden gems and create memories that will last a lifetime.
